Vegetative propagation is practiced for growing some types of plants because it has the following advantages:
- All plants produced by Vegetative propagation are genetically similar enough to the parent plants and thus they don't lose any characteristic.
- The fruit trees grown from seed take larger time than vegetative propagation and thus the lead to high production.
- The plants grown from vegetative propagation don't need much attention in their early years than the plants grown from seeds.
- Many plants of desirable characteristics can be grown by the method of artificial vegetative propagation.
- Vegetative propagation makes the propagation of plants such as banana, rose, jasmine and orange that had lost their capacity of producing viable seeds.
Hope I made it clear for you ☺️
