Why is Venus hotter than mercury even though it is closest to the sun

Venus is hotter than Mercury because,

The atmosphere of Venus consists of Carbon dioxide and the clouds of the planet Venus is made up of acids.

When sunlight falls on the atmosphere of Venus, the CO2 , they react and the planet gets even more hot !
