Why is venus the Hottest planet even it is on the second place from sun ??

Venus is the hottest planet because it has dense clouds of carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid(Yep, sulfuric acid that can burn us. It rains sulfuric acid on Venus not water!).

And being second closest planet to Sun, Venus too gets a lot of heat energy from Sun and unlike the planet Mercury (Mercury has very thin atmosphere) Venus (actually atmosphere of Venus) traps this heat and does not let it escape.

This is because of the green house effect of the gases present in Venus’ atmosphere which is something similar to global warming on Earth but much more intense, so intense that the temperature on Venus is about 462 degrees Celsius always while on Mercury the temperature during day is about 425 degrees Celsius and during night it’s about -193 degrees Celsius (yep, negative temperature).
