Why is veto power called a negative vote ? Should the veto system be abolished or not ? Support your answer with suitable argument?

veto is called negative vote because Veto power means the power to one to stop any decision but not to take one. It means to "forbid".

I think to promote democracy in world Veto must be abolished because the five country which have veto can stop any decision.ex- in Pakistan matter all other five members are agree but china help Pakistan so it forbid and nothing will happen.

Veto power is being designated as the negative power as it could bring about negation against any rule enactment or decision making and stands alone but powerful.

Veto power has a say to negate an on – going decision but is not involved in taking any decision or in the process of making decision. Forbid is meant by Veto. That is why, being a negative vote, the power of veto must be abolished in order to promote actual democracy than to pretend one.
