Why is voltmeter connected in parallel across a circuit element

Hey there


Voltmeter is connected in parallel with circuit elements because it is used to measure the device's voltage.

This is important because elements in series have same potential difference.

If it's connected in series then it will change the value of potential difference which will minimise the current in the circuit as it has very large resistance and you will get faulty readings.
