Why is water important to the frogs reproduction?

They have gills which extract oxygen from water and keep them alive , until they have developed sufficiently with lungs , that will allow them to live on land ( frogs can absorb oxygen through their thin skins and the lining of the mouth as well ). So, that's why water is important to the frogs reproduction.
