Water is not used to extinguish fire caused by electrical circuits because it would aggravate the situation. While we can also not use it to extinguish fire caused by petroleum products and oils as they are lighter than water and float on its surface.

Because water conducts electricity.
So when you throw water on electric appliance or electric involved substance it leads to hive shock at that place or a person who involved in it.
