Water is essential for all living organisms because it is liquid in earth like temperatures.

1. Water is dissolves a wide range of substances and thus it is called the universal solvent. This is why it dissolves all the gases and minerals required to sustain aquatic life.

2. As water dissolves so many things, it plays important role in the absorption of water soluble vitamins( B1, b2, b3, b9, b12, C).it also plays important role in certain bio-chemical reactions.
