The reason for the least development in rail facilities in Western region of Asia is the region is mostly deserts.  

The countries in western Asia are

Iran, Iraq, Bahrain, Jordan, Syria, Oman, Qatar, Palestine, Oman, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates

The vast desert and sparsely spread population along with frequent wars are standing as the main reason for the least development of rail transportation in this region.

These region have major aquifers, where water is taken for drinking and agricultural purposes.


The weather pattern of this region is arid and semi-arid.


This region mainly consists of pastures, abandon area and pinnacles.


Due to the presence of deserts and mountains the rail facility is limited or least developed in these regions.
