Why is yeast added to the mixture made for making bread ?

Why can we not use fire crackers as fuel ?

Mother is trying to make curd at home . Will it be more difficult to make it in summer or winter? Why?

Why are plastics preferred for making toasters , electric kettles and hair dryers?

Please give me a little lengthy answer and the first and third answer should be lengthy .
