Zimbabwe cannot be considered a truly democratic country under Robert Mugabe beause

1. Mugabe has banned all political parties except his own Zanu PF.

2. He does not free and fair elections in the country.

3. Political opponents of Mugabe are routinely harassed, beaten up, imprisoned and even murdered.

4. Mugabe follows racist policies against the country's white minority. The white population has been deprived of their land, jobs and other economic rights.

5. Mugabe has dictatorial powers in Zimbabwe. He has been declared executive president by the Zimbabwean Parliament combining the roles of head of state, head of government, and commander-in-chief of the armed forces, with powers to dissolve parliament and declare martial law.
