Isotopes are those which have similar chemical property but different atomic masses. Isotopes became a challenge for Mendeleev to put in Mendeleev periodic Table. Isotopes like Cl35 and Cl37 has same atomic number but different atomic masses. As a result, Isotopes does not find their seperate place in Mendeleev's Periodic Table. As Comparison to Modern Periodic, elements are arranged in the order of their increasing atomic no. So Cl35 and Cl37 are placed at the same place because of same Atomic no. Mosely find out that atomic no. is an fundamental property of element rather than Atomic Mass.
