I think it not related to our study, but ur answer is that baby's formation take place in the mother's uterus when father's sperm go into mother's uterus..
So, father is responsible for that, bcoz without father it can't be done..

A father has 2 sex chromosomes i.e X and Y whereas A mother has 2 sex chromosomes i .e X and X.

So when a male gamate having X chromosome fuses with the female gamate having X chromosome it results in the birth of a girl

But when a malegamate having Y chromosome fuses with a female gamate having a X chromosome it results in a birth of a boy.

So it's the father who is responsible for the sex of a baby
