Cooking at high altitudes is different from cooking in plain areas at ground level. The reason for this has to with differences in atmospheric pressure.

tejasreee: only one reason is there for the question?
nadafathima: you need more reasons???
shv: as the alititude increase the temperature decreases .the ground is in lower altitude it is easy to cook here but in mountains we must use pressure cooker
nadafathima: as you increase altitude, the density of the air becomes thinner and this thinner or less dense air then exerts less pressure. So the higher the altitude the less dense the air and pressure decreases, until in space -no air, no pressure,no density. It is time and temperature that does the cooking. It has nothing to do with whether the water is boiling. That is only a physical phenomenon that you can see. You have to measure for temperature and time, as these are the two factors that determine when
jamunajohn88: higher in the altitude pressure increases, and temperature decreses. that is in high altitude, water boils below 100degree celcius
TPS: You all are missing the important point. Actually as the altitude increases, the pressure decreases and at lower pressure the boiling point of water(most common fluid for cooking) increases i.e. water will boil at a temperature more than100 degree celsius. So you need more time and energy to cook.
jamunajohn88: higher the altitude pressure decreases and water boills below 100degree celcius
TPS: Yeah. you are correct. I saw that just after i posted the comment. But there isn't any option to edit it.
tejasreee: thanks all of u!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks a lot
