why it is easier to tear a branch of tree from its far and rather than close to the tree.

the ones closer are thicker hence they are not easy to tear, but the ones at the far end are comparatively thinner hence easier to tear.

Its is easier from the far end because the force used to break it from that end is easier than breaking it from a closer point.
