Why it is easier to walk on soft sand if we have flat shoes with sharp heels or pencil heels

It is easier to walk on soft sand if we have flat shoes with sharp heels or pencil heels because flat shoes has more surface area which will exerts less pressure on the sand , as pressure is inversely proportional to area. In case of the sharp heel or pencil heel the surface area is less which will mean more pressure will be exerted in the sand and sink in the sand thus making it difficult to walk on sand.
