It is impossible to make an artificial protoplasm in laboratory because of the following reasons:

> Lack of technology to synthesize special proteins and few lipids for the protoplasm.

> Protoplasm is very minute in size (about 0.1 to 0.001 microns) so it would be very difficult to arrange the proteins, lipids and sugars according to the fluid mosaic model.

> Scientists still are unable to discover properly about the protoplasm in depth and don’t know what is the actual reason of stability of the membranes and usage of few components. The fluid mosaic model itself was discovered in the late 1970s.
