It is necessary in mammals and birds to separate oxygenated and de-oxygenated blood because this makes their circulatory system is more efficient and helps in maintaining constant body temperature.

As we know in the lower organised such as in the case of fishes amphibia and reptiles normally the two and three chambered hearts are present due to which they have the closest blood circulating system takes place. and oxygenated and deoxygenated blood moves simulataniously due to which the originals are closed blooded in nature and unable to maintain their body temperature , but in the case of mammals and birds the oxygenated and deoxygenated blood moves separately and maintain the body temperature it means the body temperature is normally maintained by the separate movement of blood such as organism are normally warm blooded in nature..
