Pen is more powerful than time and sword indeed. The poet
through his pen immortalized his friend by preserving the memory of his good
deeds in the poem , 'Not Marbles, Nor the Gilded Monuments'; this memory of his friend's good deeds will be
handed down from one generation to another till the end of times. Neither time, nor sword will be able to obliterate this memory. So in this sense, pen is mightier than time and sword.

It is very rightly said that pen is mightier than sword because it indeed is. Let's see how!
Pen if compared to sword, is much smaller in length and much lighter in weight. But, it has exceptional powers. The sword is used by Kings, princes, and warriors in wars and fights. Our pens cannot help us win those wars. But, amazingly, it can do a great more! The wars one with the help of swords and might of Kings are forgotten over time. No person discusses about the wars that happened millions of years of ago or which sword helped the King win them. But, when great poets and writers pen down great pieces of art with the help of this small pen, it changes everything. The words penned down by poets remain in the hearts of people for time immemorial. The posterity remembers those things which were expressed with love and truth, not with hatred. The beautiful poems written by poets remain in the world till Doom's day (judgement day; the day when the world will end).
