Why it is so much easier to perform interference experiments with a laser than with an ordinary light source.

The light produced by laser is coherent. This means that all of the photons behave as if they are a part of a single wave i.e., their phases all have exactly the same value relative to each other. Whereas light produced by an ordinary light source is incoherent.
