why it is that wooden chair should be called a solid not liquid

Because a wooden chair is a solid and solids have least interparticle space between their molecules while in liquids they have less interparticle space between their molecules as compared to solids and solids have definite shape like a wooden chair but liquids have not.So a wooden chair is a solid.

A wooden chair is made up of molecules tightly bounded to each other and it won't take the shape of the container in which it is placed like a liquid does...
