Why it is told that during lightning if you are in an open place do not lie on the ground but squat low on the ground and place your hands on your knees and your head between the hands??????? answer ...needed.. a satisfactory answer....

as if we stand in the open ground we become easy target to attract the lightning as we become tallest conductor in that region so that is more chance of lightning passing through is..

but as we like down in the open ground we become less likely to pass lightning through us..as we are not that much taller to attract lightning..

coz lightning Falls on taller and conducting object.

because lighting fall on taller and conducting objects so when we stand in open field we can easily attract by lighting.
