why jamsetji tata choose jamshedpur to set up his iron and steel plant

tinapatinsome: The reasons for choosing Jamshedpur as the location to put up the steel plant were the abundance of iron ore deposits in the area, abundant coal and manganese deposits, availability of limestone and dolomite, proximity to Kolkata, which acts as a large market, proximity to the port, Haldia, Kharkai and Subarnarekha rivers ensure abundant water supply to the plant, and the availability of cheap labour

Jamsetji Tata choose jamshedpur to set up his iron and steel plant because of the following ways
1 - it was near the confluency of the river's subasnarekha and kharkai in jharkhand
2- this play was only 32 km away from kalimati station in the Bengal - Nagpur railway line
3 - it was close to the iron or coal and maganese deposits as well as to Kolkata which provided as large market
4- TISCO , get coal from sharia coal fields and iron ore ,
dolonite and manganese from orissa and chhattisharh

Annabeth: A slight correction: its Odisha not Orissa
ishikarastogi: oh sorry
