WHY JOHN DALTON IS CALLED A CHEMIST AND NOT A SCIENTIST?

John Dalton is called a chemist and not a scientist because although he did contribute something to chemistry but his theories were later proved to be wrong. For example, he said that atoms are indivisible, which when after several experiments by J. J. Thompson was proven to be wrong as Thompson discovered electrons which were smaller than the atom and were present in the atom itself thus proving that atom is divisible.
