Cultivation of jute requires warm and moist climate.100-200 cm rain and 24-35 degree Celsius temperature is suitable for this crop. Besides brig bags, canvas twist and yarn, blanket, carpet brush and ropes are made of jute fibers. From the stems of jute, charcoal and gun powder is made.

Selection of Land

Loam and alluvial loam land which is leveled, water drainage is good and have enough retention capacity is more suitable for its cultivation.

Preparation of Land

Prepare the land for sowing by 1 ploughing through disc harrow followed by 2-3 ploughing by indigenous plough or cultivator and level the land by leveler. Since the seed of jute is small in size, soil should be fine tilth So that the seed can be easily germinated. Suitable moisture in the soil is good for germination.
