Jute is grown in the Delta region because the soil is very fertile there because the Brahmaputra and Ganges are full of minerals.


The soil conditions in the Ganges delta is suitable for growing jute. Rich loam and silts provide the best composition of soil structure for Jute production.

cultivation of crops depend upon the climate and the soil .the 85% of world's jute cultivation is concentrated in the ganga delta. the delta region has loamy soil and silt which is favourable for jute cultivation.
