If a jute plant is allowed to grow after the flowering and and then harvesting is done after ripening of seeds, the fibre will be stronger but quality of fibre will be very coarse and it lacks the characteristic lustre and elasticity. During the flowering stage the stem of the jute plant has more of fibres.
