Kashmir was a free country and wasn't joined by neither India nor Pakistan.
Once both the countries tried to attack Kashmir to get it into their territory but only Pakistan attacked not India. Then the King of
J and K offered India to take J and K to themselves but ptotect them. Finally J and K became a part of India.
