Why kauravas want to kill the pandavas?

because they hates pandavas and didn't want to give the throne of hastinapur them..

The oldest Dhritraashtra son, Duryodhana (and other kauravas) wanted to be the king of hastinapur.

But according to the existing rule the oldest son will become the king. The younger brothers can become kings only if they prove themselves to be better than the elder brother.

Yudhisthir was the oldest of all (both kauravas and Pandavas)......hence he was rightful to get the throne.

So in order to get the throne, kauravas tried to kill the Pandavas.

(but they failed everytime)
