Kelvin cycle is known as C3 cycle as in the CO2 Fixation stage,the CO2 diffuses into the stroma of the chloroplast in mesophyll cells and added to the five-carbon acceptor ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate yielding a six-carbon intermediate product which is hydrated to produce two molecules of three-carbon 3-phosphoglycerate or phosphoglyceric acid (3-PGA) as the first stable product.

Rubisco (catalyst)
CO2 + RuBP ----------------------------------> 2 3-PGA

This first stable product (3-PGA), is a three-carbon compound thats why this mechanism of photosynthesis is called C3 Cycle.
