Why Kerosene oil lamp does gives fame during burning where as charcoal on burning does not produce flame

Answer:

The substances which vapourise during burning, give flames. For example, kerosene oil and molten wax rise through the wick and are vapourised during burning and form flames. Charcoal, on the other hand, does not vapourise and so does not produce a flame

Wax candle and kerosene oil lamp have wicks. Molten wax and kerosene oil rise through the wick,get vaporised during burning and form flames. Charcoal is a solid fuel which does not vaporise on heating.So,charcoal does not burn by producing a flame.
