Why land is called a limited resources

Lands,desserts,lakes,Mountainaries, etc. Therefore we have limited amount of land to use for different purposes.Land resources are important for agriculture, Industries, Residencies,mining etc .And due to pollution, using so much of chemical fertilizers, fertile land is decreasing. Therefore we call land resources limited.
