land is an important resource due to the fact that it can be used for various purposes like agriculture, forestry, mining, building houses, roads and setting up of industries. It also serves as a habitat for a variety of flora and fauna, etc.

two reasons for land degradation are: overgrazing and  urbanization

in order to improve land we should

* check overgrazing

* control water logging

* ensure afforestation

* use different farming methods like strip cropping, multiple cropping, crop rotation, etc.

* reclaim land

* reclaim wasteland so that it can be brought back for other uses

* use chemical fertilizers and pesticides in less amounts
