Why leaf get detached when we shake its branches?

according to physics it's becoz of inertia, when branches of a tree are shaken or a tree is shaken fruits nd leaves fall down.this is becoz the tree has the inertia of rest moreover the fruits and leaves ATTACHED to the tree r also in rest with respect to tree.but as soon as a tree or branches are shaken they come in the inertia of motion, but the leaves and the fruits attached to the tree could not share the motion at once , so the massive and weakly attached fruits nd leaves fall down due to gravity.
