Here is your answer

Now, we all know that a leap year occurs every four years, and has one extra day, making the total number of days in the year to be 366 instead of 365. The extra day is added to February because of it being the shortest month

msagar2606: no it is not the exact reason
Sivashankari: then say the ans
msagar2606: ITS LIKE, according to the roman calendar. there were 355 days a year and 22 day month every 2 years until Jullius Caesar became the emperor and then he decided that there will be 365 days and there will be an extra day added to the calendar every 4 years and the added that day to feb and 29th feb was made to incorporate the extra hours.
msagar2606: can a be comment be the brainliest ?!? :]
Sivashankari: yea
