Why least count of vernier is value of 1 main scale division-value of 1 vernier scale division.
Explain in detail.

the least count of vernier scale is 1mm because formula to find the least count of vernier scale is =minimum measurement on the main scale divided by total no of division on vernier scale so 0.1/ 10 = 1mm or 0.01cm
