why left ventricle of the heart has thicker walls than the right ventricle

The right ventricular wall is thinner because it doesn't need to pump blood in high pressure. It just pumps blood to the lungs to be oxygenated then it goes to the left ventricle. The left ventricle pumps against more resistance than the right so it gets thicker.
