Importance of leguminous crop :

Due to the following reason, leguminous crops should be grown:

  • Due to the ability of the leguminous crop to fix atmospheric nitrogen, these crops are grown at regular intervals at the farm to increase the nitrogen content of the soil.
  • When the farm’s soil is nitrogen deficient, it can be grown with leguminous crops to alter the condition of the soil.
  • It reduces the uses of chemical fertilizers.
  • It also improves the organic content of the soil.
