It is NOT clear if the lens is placed in a mixture of water because the clarity is further reduced by the word “happens”.

DUE TO WATER HAS REFRACTIVE INDEX = 1 , HENCE WE CANT SEE CLEARLY WHEN KEPT IN WATER.
