when alkali metals react with ethyne, they form ethynide compounds.it is also termed as acetylide .but LI metal does not form ethynide or acetylide with ethyne because of small size and high polarising power of LI.

Li doesn't form ethynide on reaction with ethynes because it has high ionisation enthalpy due to its extremely small size and high polarisING power (charge/radius ratio) . it's outermost electron is so close to the nucleus, so it is very difficult to remove the electron against the force of attraction applied by its nucleus.
