Air is necessary for life on earth because all living organisms require one or the other component of the air to live. Air is made up of various gases like Oxygen, Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Carbon dioxide and other gases. Every component is important for life on earth.

Oxygen is important for us Humans and other animals to survive, as we need oxygen to breathe in and keep our body functioning. Plants require Carbon dioxide to make their food and then release Oxygen in the air. Nitrogen is really important for some nitrogen fixing bacteria present in the roots of legumes.
