Why life process is not required in unicellular organisms?

Unlike the unicellular organisms,multicellular organisms are not in direct contact with surrounding environment. Therefore, simple diffusion will not meet the oxygen requirement of all the cells and tissues. The most important criteria to decide that something is alive is the movement.

~ Unicellular organisms are simpler than multicellular organisms that's why they have a direct contact with environment .

~ Unicellular organisms directly connected with environment for reproduction, they respire through body cavity they don't need any special system for life process
