Why light is not a matter?

Srikanth27: It would seem that photons would be matter whereas the waves wouldn't. It turns out that for both theories light isn't matter. A photon is not a matter because it hass no mass.

Matter is usually defined as something that has both a rest mass and a volume. Photons have neither of these so they are not considered matter. When something is moving very fast, close to the speed of light, it starts to gain extra mass because of relativity.
