Because it is always travel in straight way. And in empty objects it moves more than too in the other media.

because light acts as a quantum theory they can travel in particles too & waves too.

Because the photons have zero rest mass, so they travel only in space and not in time, and hence has the "original" speed, speed of light.
All other waves like sound are pressure waves, they travel due to the participation of the medium, which has mass, hence their speed is slower
