Why lime water gets converted into milky when we add carbon dioxide in it?

hey ....
lime water gets converted into milky when carbon dioxide is passed through it due to the formation of white ppt. of CaCO3 .
CaO + CO2 ----> CaCO3 .

lime water + carbon dioxide------> calcium carbonate .

when carbon dioxide is passed through lime water a white coloured precipitate is formed which is insoluble in water.tge two components lime water and carbon dioxide reacts with each other and form calcium carbonate,which is milky in colour. so this solution is also known as milk lime
