Why liquid HCN (hydrogen cyanide) do not give methatical reaction?

1°) there is no such a think like a 'methaniel'

2°) if you talking about a reaction, you should provideat least a second component to react with.

3°) with liquid HCN do you meana solution of it in water or do you mean really pure liquified HCN ?
