why liquid is more compressible than that of solid

Because they have comparatively more intermolecular spaces and less intermolecular attraction which provides them fluidity and Compressibility .

As liquid has more intermolecular space between it than solids and also less intermolecular attraction between it's molecules. That's why liquid is more compressible than that of solid..
