Why is Li a very good reducing agent among alkali metals?

there are two factors for reducing agent

1. ionization energy

2. hydration energy

there is hydration energy factor is involved .

li has highest hydration energy of lithium ion among alkali metals thats why lithium is strong reducing agent

The heat energy released when new bonds are made between the ions and water molecules is known as the hydration enthalpy of the ion.

If the hydration enthalpy of an ion is high, it means that the hydrated ion is very stable.

Answer:

though lithium has the highest ionization energy, yet lithium is strongest reducing agent among alkali metals, because of its largest heat of hydration which sufficiently exceeds the ionization energy.
