The liver plays a vita role in association with metabolism and nutrition. Liver is the efficient laboratory when it is not affected by any disease.
Some uses of liver are :
1) It helps in digestion.It produces bile, which it goes into the intestines, to help in the digestion of fats and nutriments.It also destroys excess amount of proteins in the body.
2) Liver is called the store house of food.Digested sugar is transformed to glucose. It is then stored in the cells of liver. Liver changes glucose into dextrose.When body needs energy, liver converts glycogen into dextrose and send it to muscles and other tissues.
3) Liver store iron to prevent anemia
4) Some food may be poisoned with lead and mercury. Liver stores such toxins, thus leading to possibility of liver damage.
