Because lysosomes contain large number of enzymes which can digest foreign particles that enter the cell. This process is called autolysis. ... This occurs while enzymes are released. Killing itself is called suicide, so they are called suicidal bags of cell.

lysosomes are membrane enclosed organelles that contain an array of enzymes capable of breaking down the all types of biological polymers.one of its function is to digest materials taken up from the outside the cell .that process is called endocytosis . that's why we call lysosomes as suicidal bags.
